Nice blog Andrew,

I know its really difficult to have mid-Year funding adjustments after this funding cuts. I too urge the CSU staff to just explore once "Smartest Investment Website" and hopefully would sign the petition too.
‘Your Voice’ Staff Survey was good,in fact loved the framing of the questions, hope to act strategically after the survey reports.
Hats off to you Paul & your team for the great achievement.
NSW Teacher Reforms ‘Great Teaching, Inspired Learning’Blueprint seems interesting and is really the need of the hour.
So Andy, finally you had your first Poster presentation, would love to take some presentation tips from you before my actual presentation :)
Glad to know that CSU Ontario project is moving steadily.
Last but not the least, welcome Prof.Tim Wess to CSU (a whole hearted welcome from the Post Graduate student representative on the Science Board)

Now waiting eagerly for tomorrow's federal budget, till then fingers crossed.

Have a great day

Regards

Good Job Andy :)
The new strategy is very relevant,in fact "Unique" in itself.I am sure it will project CSU as a brand ambassador in the regional Higher Education sector. We will definitely be a Player in the international as well as Distance education programs. The engagement of our Alumni boost up our confidence, enhance our productivity as well as social engagement towards the community thus enriching Regional Australia.
With "Smart Learning" approach,CSU will leave no stones unturn to succeed in its mission.
I wish we stick to our Strategy, its objectives & measures and not being blown away in the political turmoil.

Thanks for the update and warm interaction, Mr Vice Chancellor. During the year 2012, I continued as Adjunct Professor in Animal Physiology, and kept collaboration with Prof Peter Wynn. In addition to the graduate DVM program, MSc Hons and PhD teaching and research, we also tried to link with the local industry. After having a successful International Workshop on Dairy Science Park 2011 http://aup.edu.pk/dairy-science-park.php; we have scheduled the second workshop for November 18-20, 2013, with a theme "Developing enterprising capacity of livestock and poultry farmers of Pak-Afghan Region through partnership of academia, government, entrepreneurs, exporters & civil society with special focus on meat production targeted at International Halal Food Market".

We also attempted to organize the local peri urban dairy farmers into an association and linked them with the Agribusiness Support Fund, a USAID funded body. Our University Feed Mill and a private company will provide them with the desired business support for enhancing quality and profitability. I was notified as Best University Teacher 2011 under a recent notification of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan http://drmsqureshi.wordpress.com/2013/02/15/prof-subhan-qureshi-got-best-university-teacher-award-2011/.
I enjoy reading all your blogs, you are really fantastic as usual.Belated New Year to you and your family too :)
Year 2012 was great for me and wish the same for this year too. This year opened with new opportunities for CSU as Sue Thomas, our DVC,became a part of ARC.Moreover I too attended the Graduation ceremonies (before my actual graduation) and the feedback I got from the students especially DE students were amazing.Their love and respect for CSU (even though they just attended a couple of tutorials on any campus) was immense. We have great graduates who will be great Mentors for our current students and I am pretty sure, they will be actively involved in the Alumni activities.
Just a wish for 2013 that Wagga may win the battle in setting up a Medical School on Campus amongst the regional political turmoil.
With these notes, wish to see you soon.

Thanks Andy for what has felt, for me anyway, like a different CSU in the making this year. Building on what has come before, but I think a greater sense of direct daily access to the thoughts and beliefs of the Vice-Chancellor, the framework through which you see the world and which allows others to have a sense of what motivates you and the decisions you and we will make over the coming years. It helps to know 'where you're coming from', which can be a bit of an elusive thing with some CEOs. It also seems very important that you model the sort of behaviours and skills in a digital world that we increasingly expect of our students.

On emails, I've always believed that communication is much less important than dialogue, and that those aren't necessarily the same thing. I can handle lots of emails, but I think there's a much greater sense of internal dialogue here now than there has been previously, which I think is terrific.

Happy Christmas!
